Sponsors and Organizers
These organizations and individuals have played a key role in developing Cloud Forest Alive and are considering exciting ideas for expansion of the web site, including on-line and internet-based ecology research and education through the Cloud Forest Laboratory. Click here to learn how to help sponsor this initiative.

Project Sponsor

  • The Tropical Science Center (CCT) is currently the financing organization for Cloudforest Alive and also manages the Monteverde Cloud Forest Preserve. The Preserve managers, local guides, and researchers at the Monteverde Cloud Forest Preserve in Costa Rica provide the essential ecological information and other content on the website, and are managing field operations including the live webcams.

Previous Project Contributors and Initiators

  • The World Bank and the Government of the Netherlands provided major financial support to help start Cloudforest Alive. World Bank is also financing a variety of other initiatives related to the Mesoamerican Biological Corridor. The Central American Commission for Environment and Development (CCAD) which represents the environmental ministries of all the Central American countries on projects related to the Mesoamerican Biological Corridor also provided support to initiate Cloudforest Alive.
